How can i convince my mom to let me wear denim shorts outside?

Why won't your Mum let you wear shorts? Is it religious or does she just think they're slutty? Ask if you can wear longer length shorts that are a bit more modest then transition to shorter shorts in time.

Out of interest, where are you from? I always thought 'Mom' was an American thing but I've met a few people from the UK who say it. Is it a regional thing?

I have no idea! I think she's scared something will happen to me if i wear them out in public or something. I have not idea how to convince her that nothing'll happen to me.
And as for the mom thing, i was born in US and then i moved to UK so i have no idea lol. A lot of british people say mum so i'm guessing it's regional?

I'm a teenager, and it's not my religion, she's scared that something'll happen to me. Surprisingly, my dad is completely ok with me wearing shorts lol. I'm from Scotland and the shorts are mid thigh.

What specific age? Because there's a difference in a 13 year old wearing them and a 19 year old.

Yeah, I'm going on 20 and my parents don't approve of shorts (not that I've ever worn them). I mean the type you see online. Just above the knee is comfortable for me and they can just about accept that. Though, longer shorts are difficult to find nowadays. If your parents don't mind longer shorts, I recommend Boden's (Boden.co.uk) website where they stock the same pair of shorts in three different lengths - almost unheard of these days!
